Hockey: हर इंसान को कोई न कोई sports पसदं होता है फिर चाहे वो chess, Ludo जैसा indoor sports हो या फिर cricket, football and hockey जैसा outdoor sports हो। Sports का हमारे life में बहुत importance है। ये हमें न सिर्फ physically fit रखता है बल्कि हमें mentally strong रखने में भी help करता है।
Outdoors sports हमारे fitness के लिए बहुत जरुरी होता हैं। इन्ही outdoor sports में से Hockey भी है But क्या आप जानते है इसके कितने types होते है and क्या ये India का National Sports या Official Sports? बहुत से लोगो को लगता है कि Hockey India का national sports है तो आइये आज के blog के through इसे पता करते है।

Hockey क्या है ?
ये एक outdoor sports है जो 2 अलग अलग teams के बीच खेला जाता है। हर team में 11 players होते है जिनमे 4 defenders, 3 midfielders and 3 attackers और एक goal keeper होता है। साथ ही साथ 5 substitute players भी होते है। इस खेल में सभी players एक छोटे से ball को लड़की के एक छड़ी से जिसके किनारे मुड़े हुए होते है, से मारते हुए goal करने के कोशिश करते है। यह खेल 70 minutes के लिए खेला जाता है। Time ख़त्म होने पर जिस team ने सबसे ज्यादा goal किये होंगे वो team winner बन जाती है।
इस खेल के ground की length 91.4 meters and breadth 55 meters होती है। Goal post की height 2.14 meters and breadth 3.66 meters होती है। यह खेल rectangular field में खेला जाता है जो synthetic grass से cover रहता है।
History
यह दुनिया के सबसे पुराने खेल में से एक है जिसकी शुरुआत 1527 में Scotland के आस पास हुई। कुछ पुराने records के अनुसार ये खेल 4000 साल पुराना है जो Egypt में खेला जाता था। Egyptian Civilization के अलावा और कुछ civilizations में इस खेल के खेलने से सबुत मिले है। Modern Hockey की शुरुआत 19th Century के starting में Britishers ने की।
कहीं कहीं ऐसा भी बोला जाता है कि Christmas के time कुछ African Countries में गेना नाम का खेल खेला जाता था जो आज के field hockey से मिलता जुलता है। 2000 BCE में Iran में भी ये खेल खेला जाता था। Magnolia में Bekou नाम का एक खेल था जो बिलकुल इसके जैसा ही था।

Hockey in India
India में hockey की बात करें तो इसे सबसे पहलेBritish Army के regiment में शामिल किया गया था। India में सबसे पहले ये खेल Cantonments and troops द्वारा खेला गया। भारत में Jhansi, Jabalpur, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Lahore में मुख्य रूप से Hockey खेला जाता था। इस खेल की popularity बढ़ने के साथ साथ India में 1st Hockey Club Kolkata में 1855 में खोला गया था।
Kolkata के बाद Mumbai and Punjab में भी club open किये गए। 1928 से 1956 तक यह खेल India के लिए golden time था। इस time India ने इस खेल में कई सारे medals जीते। 1925 में Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) की स्थापना हुई जिसने 1926 में अपना पहला International tour किया। 1928 के Olympics में India ने इस खेल में अपना पहला gold medal जीता।

Types of Hockey
इसके stadium के basis पर इसे 3 types Field Hockey, Ice Hockey and Roller Hockey में divide किया गया है।
Field Hockey
यह grass or artificial turf पर खेला जाने वाला एक team sports है, जिसमें 11 players की 2 teams होती हैं। सभी players घुमावदार stick के help से ball को Hit, push or dribble करते हैं । Ball को hit, push or dribble करने का main reason opponent team के area में जाकर goal करना और अपनी टीम को जीताना है। यह खेल अपनी speed के लिए जाना जाता है और इसके लिए Physical fitness, skill and strategic teamwork के perfect combination की जरुरत होती है।
Ice Hockey
Ice Hockey एक fast speed game है जो ice rink पर खेला जाता है। इसमें 6 players की 2 teams होती है जिसमे एक Goaltender भी होता है। इस खेल में एक छोटी rubber puck को stick का use करके opponent team के net में मारकर goal करने की कोशिश करते है।
इसकी शुरुआत 19th Century के last में Canada में हुई और धीरे धीरे Ice Hockey North America and Europe में सबसे famous खेलों में से एक बन गया। यह खेल 20 20 minutes के 3 sets में खेला जाता है, जिसमें हर set के बाद teams अपना ends change करती हैं।
Roller Hockey
यह खेल एक hard surface पर खेली जाती है। इसमें players roller skates का use करते है। इसमें एक team में 5 players होते है जिसमे से से एक goaltender होता है। Roller Hockey, Field and Ice Hockey का mixture है। इसका rink ice hockey के rink से छोटा है। यह खेल 25 minutes के 2 sets में खेला जाता है।
यह Europe और South America के कुछ देशो में बहुत ही popular है। इस खेल को International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) and The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) को organize करते है।

Is it national sports of India?
हर देश का एक national sports होता है जो उसके लिए गर्व की बात होती है। जिस तरह England का national sports Cricket, America का baseball, Brazil का football है but जब बात India की आती है तो इस मामले में काफी controversy है।
Indian Government ने किसी भी खेल को officially India का national sports declare नहीं किया है। 1928 से 1956 तक India ने Hockey में बहुत कमाल किया था और काफी popular भी था जिस वजह से सभी को लगता था की यही हमारा National Sports है।
But जब RTI के द्वारा साल 2000 में Indian Government से ये पूछा गया कि Hockey को India का National Sports कब declare किया गया। इस सवाल का जबाब देते हुए Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports ने बताया कि Government ने किसी भी खेल को National Sports declare नहीं किया है because Government चाहती है कि India में सभी खेल समान तरीके से develop हो।
हालांकि Tokyo Olympics 2020 में Indian Hockey Team के शानदार performance के बाद इस खेल को National Sports घोषित करने की demand लगातार हो रही है। Tokyo Olympics में Men’s Team ने bronze medal जीता जो 41 सालों में इस खेल में India का पहला medal था।
एक वकील ने एक PIL दायर करके, जिसमें Supreme Court से Hockey को National Sports बनाने का request किया गया but इस PIL को Supreme Court ने reject कर दिया था। जब तक सरकार officially hockey या किसी और खेल को National Sports declare नहीं कर देती, तब तक India का कोई भी National Sports नहीं है।
Conclusion
